Artist description
Just me and my computer, bass, keyboards, guitar and maybe some percussion. I've wanted to put out some of the music I was working on for a while. I've finally gotten around to it and for now, I've decided that trying to make money from it is not really important. The entire album is available for free download, with cover art, from www.endsound.com. Or, at least, it will be there soon. That will include the one song, "Regolith," that mp3.com rejected because of illegal sample use. |

Artist History
I started playing music around 1992 while I was in college. I began by trying to teach myself to play bass. At that time, all I wanted to listen to was funk, funk, funk. I started an improv jazz-funk band called "Feldspar," which I may someday get around to posting on mp3.com. That band started as a four piece and then expanded to seven people and occasionally brought in others including rappers, dancers and visual artists. Feldspar played around Lancaster, PA for about four years and then I moved back out to the NW where I am from originally. At that point I was listening to a lot of Bill Laswell projects and I wanted to update the funk thing I had been doing to a more modern sound. At that point a friend played me some new electronic music and I had an epiphany. While I am still one of the most fanatic P-Funk listeners on the planet, I had a sudden desire to listen to new music and to stop trying to live in the 70s. I eventually hooked up with a band playing Drum and Bass and Hiphop (Data Phantastiq) and I entered a heavy DnB phase which I am just getting over now. I left that band in fall of 2000 because I wanted to go back to school and pursue slightly different musicial directions. |
