You can find almost every style of music from Thrash to Jazz with weight on thick riffs and fat drums.Some songs break common musical conventions and it may be that a song starts with thrash and ends up with a smokey blues. Artist History EMPOWER was founded 1997 from Michael and Werner after their old band broke down. Searching for a drummer and a vocalist they found Andrea after a half year of madness. She joined the band as a partial drummer, but soon she became a full-time-member and the band continued to search for a vocalist.He was found in April 1999 (Heli), the band starts shaping their own musical style. First gig with Strong Deformity and Scarecrow in June 1999 in Rechnitz. Followed by a couple of gigs in summer in the Suedburgenland-area, the first greater gig was the "Kreuzritter-Festival" in Bad Kreuzen (Stahlhammer, Das Ich, Evenfall, Strong Deformity, Legacy of Hate, Infernal, Sarepta, Sin after sin and many more). In August EMPOWER starts recording four songs for a demo (Illusions, Abused, Get Away and Trailer, see music-section) The autumn brought a gig with Evenfall in October, the appearance at the Livetime Festival with l'aime imortelle, Naca 7, Autumn Clan in November and the Austrian-tour-support for the In Extremo 'Verehrt und Angespien'-tour. Xmas was celebrated from us with the 'Laute Nacht' on 23. December 1999 at the Explosiv in Graz. The year 2000 began with some small gigs in Styria and Upper-Austria (where the really cool fans are!!) The next greater gig was at the Noise Art Festival 2k in Wels with Cannibal Corpse, Sodom, Vader, Evenfall, Tristania, Haggard, Thins of thy Beloved, Freund Hein and others. Last gig with Heli in August 2000 with Evenfall and Krabathor. In June 2001 Didi (ex-Pain Inc) joined the band. He was picked up at the band-contest "America is Waiting". So we're looking up to autumn, where we will have some gigs...

Group Members Werner Stockinger (bass), Andrea Zsifkovits (drums, yes, we have a girl-drummer), Michael Oswald (guitar, additional noise), vocals on recording sung by Heli Vollmann (Axl V) which left the band in October 2000, so we are searching for a new singer

So ein kruder Stilmischmasch um diese Zeitwird mir eindeutig zu viel, von Death über Thrash bis Jazz wird alles bunt durcheinandergewürfelt, in etwa Faith No More meetsVoivod meets Primus, ich ergreife die Flucht. ********* Eigenständigkeit wird bei Empower großgeschrieben, so bieten die 3 Jungs und ein Mädel Core Metal vom Feinsten. Druckvolle Gitarren, hämmernde Drums, treibender Bass und ein alles mitreißender Gesang lassen bei den 3 Tracks kein Metal-Auge trocken. Ist man gerade beim totalen abbängen kommt einem plötzlich ein funkiger Rythmus entgegen. Weiter geht´s mit Deathmetal Beats und auch ein Hauch Red Hot Chilli Peppers kommt zum Vorschein. Keine Musik für eine Schublade sondern etwas ganz neues-gratuliere! Als Anspieltip wäre jeder Song geeignet, aber probiert es mal mit Illusions, das mich jedesmal in die Knie zwingt. Die neue Cd ist übrigens gerade in Arbeit-also gönnt euch derweilen die Promo- es lohnt sich! (More will be posted later, translation to english in work:))
