Destroy Everything - An Accident Wanting to Happen ::: Destroy Everything, the band, has its roots in the early-80s Chicago punk scene. Lead singer, Cheddar Nines, was instrumental in organizing the now legendary "Expired Milk Nights" at many of the underground hot spots. By 1990 many clubs simply closed down because they couldn't get rid of the sour dairy stink. Guitarist, Senor Citizen, was widely regarded in the scene as the guy with most ridiculous shoes. One particularly absurd shoe of The Senor's is still on the median strip of the Stevenson expressway near the Summit exit. Bassist, Stiff Mittens, doesn't really remember much of the 80s, so it's hard to say what contributions he made to the movement. However, rumor has it that he's the guy flipping off Alderman Ed Burke in the WGN News coverage of the 1987 St. Patrick's Day Parade. ::: Eventually, these three counter-culture pioneers got together and formed the band Destroy Everything. They began rehearsing in a small, corner room at the back of Cheddar's girlfriend's house. Shortly thereafter their relationship degenerated into bitterness and hostile sarcasm so the band moved all its gear over to Cheddar's and set up a small studio in his bedroom. The release of "Please Help Me", their debut record, marks the culmination of many long nights languishing under the skepticism and ridicule of Cheddar's brother, The Duke. Despite his persistent nay-saying, Destroy Everything has managed to produce their discs entirely on their own. The first album was recorded, mixed and mastered on Cheddar's somewhat flawed but nevertheless abundantly available PC. Seizing upon all the latest trends, they have been diligently hawking their wares all over the Internet. It is their hope to, one day, rival the traffic of electronic smut. Now, with their sights focused sharply on their next burrito, these destructive songsmiths are hard at work on their next release. Woe unto all that is held as sacrosanct. ::: Destroy Everything is preparing to release its second full length record entitled "No More Monkeys." They are promoting the records through shows, mass mailings, e-mailings, zine ads, and at their web site, http://www.destroyeverything.com.
Destroy Everything is also currently featured on a number of compilations and internet radio stations. |
