Artist History Decadence is a pop/rock quartet based in Westford, MA, located 35 minutes northwest of Boston. Founded by lead singer Dave Fortin in 1999, they have spent the past four years playing shows throughout Greater Boston and the surrounding New England areas, while continuing to progress as musicians and songwriters along the way. Decadence has had airtime on many college radio stations throughout New England, including those at Colby Sawyer, Regis, and U-Mass Amherst, and returns to these schools often to play to growing audiences. The band was the winner of the popular vote at a battle of the bands put on by Regis College last spring, and has become a staple performer at the annual Bowl Day Festival at U-Mass Amherst, where the winner earns the right to open for a national act at the school’s annual Spring Concert, which always draws a crowd of thousands. In addition to playing as frequently as possible and constantly developing new material, Decadence always make time each year to do a special fundraiser, benefiting various charities and organizations. In 2002, they organized a show in their hometown of Westford to raise money for research by the Multiple Sclerosis Society, and were able to donate over $900 dollars to the cause. This is a tradition that the band would like to continue in the future, as they can hopefully raise more money as they gain greater exposure. One thing that will surely help them to do so was the release this past November of their first EP, entitled “Crushed.” This five-track CD is a great representation of the skills possessed by the band, as well as the potential they have for the future. Through networking with other acts and music professionals from all over, Decadence hopes to begin traveling soon to get a buzz going bout their music in other markets. For this band the skies the limit!
