Artist description
Cherokee Wind is a mixture of all that is good in Bluegrass Music. Vocals that blend into a wall of harmony that is difficult to beat, music that can be energetic or mello depending on the song, played by veterans of Bluegrass Music. The group's name is derived from their Cherokee ancestory and each member is proud of that fact. |

Artist History
Cherokee Wind formed in the latter part of 1998. Carl Towns, returned from Europe after touring there as a solo Country Msuic Artist. After he returned he realized that Bluegrass was the music for him and formed this group with his parents, Joe and Polly; and their friend Chester Prince. The collective experience of this group spans five decades, and members of the group have performed in various places throughout the US with artists such as: Ralph Stanley, Mike Snider, Boys From Indiana, IIIrd Tyme Out,The Prmitive Quartet, and countless others. It is this experience that shines through on the stage. In the fall of 2000, after playing many places without a full-time bass player, Cherokee Wind, brought on Charles Mann of Gadsden, Al. Charles brought with his bass a comical repertoire of jokes and candor that adds even more to Cherokee Winds shows. This is Cherokee Wind, they have existed since the rivers ran and the wolf roamed free. Look Out! There's Storm Coming! |
