Artist description
"Seth Howard may be the next Nick Drake with his melancholy soul. Or he could be the next Elliott Smith with his shimmering cameos of women loved and lost. He may be cousin to Doug Martsch with semi-mystic images anthemic to anyone who was once young or in love or innocent or laid off in the new economy, and with his clear adoration for the guitar's potential as an instrument. And like the best indie-pop bands, Howard's music has a distinct, original sound and is played impeccably well. With just an acoustic guitar and his voice, he creates full, lush songs with intense lyrics that stand out even to casual listeners." - Daphne Adair

Press Reviews
"-- Howard is great. With a shy voice that falls somewhere between Elliott Smith and Seam's Sooyoung Park in his quieter, breathier moments, and an arsenal of moving, quietly intense songs over which to drape it, the bald-headed Howard was captivating. As a guitarist, he was consistently excellent; many of his songs used strange, creative chords and progressions that gave them a very open, spacious quality. His drummer was spot-on as well, playing simple but creative beats that moved the songs along very nicely. All in all, this was a surprising performance from a great new local talent. I hope that there were some bookers among the small crowd that watched Howard play, because his songs deserve to be heard by far more people than the 40 or so intrepid souls who realized that watching some guy play beautiful, intricate songs on the guitar is way more important than bellying up to the bar."
