Artist History
Founded in 1997 by Scott Elnes, former member of Seattle’s infamous club band Inflatable Soule, M-set has developed a reputation amongst insiders as “the best vocal band in Seattle." Though M-set does boast strong melodies and four part harmonies, they are far from merely a vocal band. If you look to bands such as The Presidents of the USA, Foo Fighters, Blink 182, you’ll begin to get an idea as to the overall musical sound of the band. However, toss in the lush four part harmonies and quirky personal charm of The Fab Four and you’ll REALLY begin to get the full picture. M-set’s latest record, Biography of a Buzz is hot off the presses and already creating a stir. Biography of a Buzz is a satirical concept album that follows the frenzied behavior of two Major Label record companies trying desperately to win the favor of our heroes, the boys of M-set. Disc Jockey Andy Savage from Seattle’s own 107.7 The End makes a cameo appearance as the smooth talking “Buck Bendover - V.P. of A&R for Mega Mondo Records." Biography of a Buzz was produced, engineered and recorded by M-set with help from a digital multi-tracker, a stunning microphone collection and occasional advice from friends such as Dave Dederer (The Presidents of the USA) and Tom Hall (Producer -Queensryche & Dog’s Eye View). M-set is currently touring regionally, and have performed in virtually every major venue in every major city in the Northwest. Their combined years of live music experience and quirky satirical charm make them a must see on any live circuit. |
