Artist description
Jim Fix combines the emotion and drive of independent underground music with abrasive rock n' roll elements, adds in the soloing and experimental tendencies of Dinosaur Jr. and Rush, the power of post-hardcore groups like Helmet and Quicksand, and the catchy riffs of power rock like Nirvana and the Who. Ringing with clarity and heart-on-the-sleeve emotion one minute, and roaring with distortion, feedback and fuzz the next, Jim Fix plays true "indie-power-rock."

Artist History
Jim Fix formed in March of 2000 in Indianapolis, the by-product of two defunct hardcore
and rock n' roll groups. They began playing out that May after composing the four songs
that would appear on their first demo (released August 2000). Shortly after recording their
debut EP, "The Neverending Road to Forever" in July 2001, Jim Fix relocated to Bloomington, IN,
after rocking continuously for the past 14 months with the likes of Christiansen, Death by Stereo,
Student Rick, and scores of local and regional bands. Drawing rave reviews for the EP and their energetic, frantically paced shows, and rocking
nearly every other weekend whilst balancing school full-time, they continue the advancement
and progression of their brand of indie power-rock.
Recently, Jim Fix re-released their debut CDEP (now called "Amplify") and have been playing shows across the Midwest nearly
every other weekend. They will continue to play out this fall and will be hitting most of the Midwest on their Winter Break
2002 Tour, scheduled for December 26, 2002-January 4, 2003. |

Press Reviews
"Finally, here's an album that makes you wanna scream ROCK!--raw, unpolished, and full of sing-and-scream-along intensity." (Mel Duncan, NUVO. www.nuvo.net)
"Jim Fix delivers a cataclysmic payoff on every song of this six-track EP. Defined by the chiming guitars of Matthew Driscoll and James Rawlinson, Neverending Road revs toward thrilling, always logical conclusions. Although some influences are easy to spot (Weezer's Only In Dreams, the Who's Baba O'Riley), Jim Fix is well on its way to pure rock fury." (Dave Lindquist,
The Indianapolis Star, www.indystar.com)
"Indicative of the badge of pure indie, Jim Fix mix in everything that makes indie rock good." (Brian, Fun Game Massive e-zine, www.fungamemassive.com)
FEB 14th show - "Rhino's. The show itself was awesome. Young, local upstarts JIMFIX played first and rocked. I'll bet that by this time next year they will be a force to be reckoned with." (Ultimate Fakebook's tour diary, www.ultimatefakeboook.com) |
