Artist History
The Forgotten formed in March of 1995 by guitarist Ed and drummer Marc. They wanted to create a unique mixture of chaotic Black/Death and Doom. Taking their queue from such influences as Mercyful Fate, Asphyx, Beherit, Suffocation, early Mayhem, they started writing some songs. They spent the next two years working on material and finding a steady line-up. Vocalist M joined shortly after their inception. And they released the classic self-titled rehearsal demo in April 1997. While, the demo was a crude showcase of what was to come. It established The Forgotten as one of the more innovative bands coming from the US.During this time, the band acquired keyboard player/guitarist Jim and bass player Maureen. The band immediately started work on their next release. "To Walk the Forest Black" Simply a more professional re-recording of their previous demo. The tape hit the streets in Dec of 1997, and the band went on to tour the east coast and play various festivals spreading the word of their explosive and intense live shows. After spending sometime finding a steady-lineup and writing new songs. The Forgotten entered the studio to record their first CD L'Aldila. The CD was finally released in Dec of 2000, and is easily the bands most violent and unique recording to date. The band is currently planning to tour in early 2001 to support the disc and spread the word of the intensity of The Forgotten.Releases:1997- s/t (cass)1997- To Walk the Forest Black (cass)1998- The Grave promo (cass)1998- Casket Full of Noise (ltd. ed CD)2000- L'Aldila (CD) |
