Artist History
Sir veto is unlike most other bands……………………………………..Instead of slaving away in skanky corner pubs to an audience of 5 people, the band decided right from the start that it deserved something better.Concert promoters and concert goers agreed.Releasing their debut cd in early 1999, SIR VETO has supported or played alongside just about every touring act that has come through Tasmania in the past 2 years. Here’s the short list…..THE TEA PARTY, KILLING HEIDI, SILVERCHAIR, POWDERFINGER, SOMETHING FOR KATE, GRINSPOON, COLD CHISEL, ALEX LLOYD, SHIHAD, THE WHITLAMS, THE FAUVES, PAUL KELLY, THE SUPERJESUS……………………Now the corner pub is full, the cd stocks sell out regularly and when audience numbers are added up, the band plays to an average of 2000 people at each gig that it does. Thus allowing them to hone their performance and increase their exposure to a level that most other unsigned acts will only ever imagine.SIR VETO now has a second album length release in SPECIMANKIND, which sees their hook driven pop/rock move into a slightly edgier more electronic domain. The music is intense but accessible and covers a lot of ground both lyrically and stylistically. They are a band just waiting for their full potential to be realised. |
