Artist History
Distorted Reality is a young innovative band created by Martha M. Arce from Miami, USA and Christian Kobusch from Bielefeld, Germany. Martha is also the lead singer of Deep Red (www.deepred.com) the American Electro-Goth formation. Deep Red released an album "The Awakening" and a single CD "I Live" which contains re-mixes from Project Pitchfork. Furthermore Deep Red are featured on several compilations in Germany and the USA and have a second album entitled DarkwaterS. While on tour in Germany, as the support for Project Pitchfork, a chance meeting would occur. After a concert in Herford, Germany Martha met Christian, and they discussed their ideas. Via e-mail theykept in touch and founded Distorted Reality in 1997. Because of the distance the production took a lot of time. However, as a result of good studio conditions and a mutual desire and willingness to make this project work a collection of innovative and unique songs were created. Since their formation they have appeared on numerous radio shows across the US, Canada and Europe. An array of European and American music magazines have featured Distorted Reality, hailing their talents. Among these was the German magazine "Zillo", the Belgium/American "Sideline" and the Russian "Rockcity." They were also "Band of the Week" in the American online magazine "Legends" in August 1999. In the year 2000 Distorted Reality were included on four prestigious compilations: - "Diva X Machina Vol.3" by COP International (Germany and USA)- "Resistor" by Arts Industria (USA)- "Elektrauma Vol.5" released by Side-Line Magazine - "Shadow Dancing" by A Different Drum (USA). The year 2001 will see the release of their debut album produced by Bruno Kramm (Das Ich) in the Danse Macabre Studio in Germany. |
