    Artist History
Sunset Black hailing from Minneapolis is without a doubt the heaviest EMO band in the world. Emotionally gut wrenching stories surrounded by raw aggression. Like Dashboard meets the Deftones, an exposed nerve, a broken heart, a serial killers focus. Always stalking, always ready to capitalize on the unsuspecting. Be warned.

    Press Reviews
Welcome newcomers Sunset Black, a debut band on a debut label, discovered by Nonpoint, and a band that is sure to please just about any listener out there. Sunset Black mixes emotions of rage and tranquility to form one hell of a musical force to be reckoned with. To say these guys are similar to Dashboard C in any way is an insult to them. Sunset Black is far better then most Emo bands out there, just because of the fact they can rock hard, and provide a comforting atmosphere all at the same time. Although heavy and packed with distortion, the CD has a softer touch to it that gives it its real edge. The vocals handled by Brandon Sammons have a certain maturity that most 19 yr old singers would never have. His emotionally drenched harmonics, beautiful lyrics, and vicious screams, are heartfelt and inspired. Catchy choruses and aggressive breakdowns are brought upon by the rest of the band, followed up with sheer intensity and passion. The music is so well developed that the band could share the stage with any well known act. Nothing is held back, and it all comes together just right, even with such dynamic changes in distortion and acoustics. The crunch of the guitars mixed together with impressive singing and hammering drums create the well-rounded rock recipe. "This Place" and "Standing" demonstrate the bands serene heaviness splendidly. In this case, serene heaviness means that you can be in a pit, or just sit back taking the music in, and achieve the same satisfaction listening to the music. The CD never becomes boring, there's always something to look forward to. Although there is nothing overly unique about the music, the solid outing that these guys put out is just enough to make it worthwhile for a long time. As a fan of rock, you owe it to yourself to see the band in action, or to check out the CD. You'll be pleasantly surprised. If Bieler Bros. can secure more acts like this, then the label should have a solid future ahead of it.
