Artist description
From northern California comes the synthetic future pop sound of HAUT. The project consists of Tony Williams, (song composition and vocals), with additional co-production and composition by Jeff Winn. Tony Williams has been involved with electronic music since 1990, but it was not until 1993 when he formed his first band 'Eighth Man'. The band was a mix of dance and industrial and included members Tony Roberts (Temple of the Times- on Backlight Records), and Jeff Winn. In 1995 the Eighth Man track 'Smart Bomb' was featured on the RAS DVA limited edition CD set, "There is No Time". The song received much appreciation from the dance floor and was reviewed in Industrial Nation magazine. Eighth Man disbanded in 1996 when the members decided to pursue their own musical interests. Future forward...Tony Williams formed Haut in early 2000 with musical direction from Jeff Winn. With the ever-changing landscape of musical styles and tools available for production, Haut has moved forward to produce highly energetic and moving synthpop for new audiences. Since the beginning of 2000, when Haut was formed, the musical style has matured and progressed. The current works of Haut reflect a clearly definitive style of their own. |

Artist History
The band was formed in the first part of 2000 by Tony Williams (formerly of eighth man). The project was formed in an effort to move away from the previous mixture of metal-industrial into a form much more melodic and accessable. |
