Press Reviews
The Global Muse.com It's not often that I am impressed with the presentation enough to accept an elite artist without even hearing the music first. In fact, it's never happened. If ever would, it would have happened with Clayton Bruce Ost. I knew rightaway that this music had to be good and coming from a very serious artists. After opening the impressive packaging, I couldn't wait to hear what was behind the flair on this album named 'This Day And Age.' I'm happy tosay that I wasn't disappointed at all. In fact, I was even more impressed with the music than anything else. Clayton just has that sound that screams with passion and magic. His modern approach to a classic pop/rock groove could never disappoint. I have the urge to compare Clayton to many other popular artists, but just can't decide which ones. I like music that does that to me. Music with heavy influence that is untouchable by labels and comparisons. I spent a week listening to this music over andover before sitting down to write about it. Clayton Bruce Ost started to grow on me with each passing day. I no longer think of him as an indie artist, but a professional artist on the rise. An artist waiting to take the world by storm. An artist with the necessary songwritingskills and professionalism to push his way into the mainstream all on his own. An artists with no boundaries or comprehension of failure. Clayton's unique take on rock blends an indie rock, pop, and folk combo and creates a beauty that can only be described by listening. Yes, professionalism has it's place for artists who want to gain any amount of success on their own, but in the end, it all comes down to the music. I think Clayton Bruce Ost has that all rapped up with this album. Now all he's waiting for is for you to discover his passion and slide into his groove.- Michael Allison - THEGLOBALMUSE.COM Gajoob.com Clayton Bruce Ost's debut CD sounds much more like the music of an established artist. Ost's songs are exceptional, both lyrically and musically, and Clayton has assembled a tight cast of musicians that bring out the best in all that goes on here. This is definitely not a CD with one or two highlights as one song after the other shouts its hit potential and Ost develops interesting characters in a 3-minute Pop time span that are real and offer unique perspectives with an artistic brush of life. Guitarist Bruce Gaitsch expresses a sound from his guitars that is instantly distinguishable and refreshing and Billy Ward's drums have a new sound that is warm and present. Ward's production of this album should be noted as well; it's among the best all-around CD's I've heard this year. This Day and Age gets my highest recommendation. It's a must-have.
