Artist History
Nick and Maxx met through a mutual friend in Bemidji, Minnesota in 1997 and wenton to form a two man acoustic act called Baba O'Riley. Maxx met a bass playernamed Dak and then two was three. They played with a drummer or two until theypicked up Keith Johnson. The group was your basic northern Minnesota bar banduntil they quit to be, let's say, more creative. Reincarnating as Bliss, the guysimmediately wrote and recorded their debut EP called "Demonstration." Therecording was done by Gary Burger, who is a founding member of the 60's punkband The Monks. With the help of heavy air play on Bemidji's FM90, Bliss became1999's premiere northern Minnesota rock band drawing very large crowds whileplaying original music. So in the height of their local popularity, Bliss decided tomake a move.Bliss moved to Minneapolis/St.Paul June 1st of '99 and played New BandNight at the 7th Street Entry June 5th, and it's been a wild ride ever since. They tried to add a guitar player but instead lost him and their drummer tothe clutches of Bemidji. So in walks Scott Hamilton, drummer for therecently defunked Veloure. Adding Scott brought a whole new sense ofpatience and dynamic that the band welcomed. |
