    Artist History
Pawn shop fiddle:$70, Garage sale accordion:$20, Souvenir bodhran:£65, Recorded legacy which our children may someday appreciate: Priceless. The Omadhauns began as a father/son duo jamming in their living room. The father and his twin brother grew up playing Celtic, bluegrass, and other traditional music together but, the twin passed away a couple of years ago. And no recordings were ever made of the brothers playing together. It was decided that would not happen with the father and son! In 1998 they rounded up their guitar-playing friend, who had another friend with a recording studio, and the result was the album - Airs Apparent. Late in 1999 we added a regular bass player. She's wierd, but the the bass is regular. By the way - "omadhaun" is the Gaelic word for "fool", in case you were wondering, and it's pronounced áhm-uh-don. Be sure to click on the LINKS tab and check out the link to our new EMPORIUM, where you can find great new Omadhauns merchandise!

    Press Reviews
Both of our fan letters have expressed their appreciation for the honesty and enthusiasm in our music. + "This Fullerton, CA trio shatters any lingering doubts about the Celtic influence on bluegrass music. Either way you can dance and drink till you drop." –Listen.com + "This reminds me of the early Claddagh recordings by the Chieftains. In fact, this is the music you'll hear outside Irish pubs during sunny Sunday lunchtimes in rural towns where the tourists do not go. This IS Irish ceilidh music." - Chieftains Fans Radio on mp3.com
