Artist History
Since its inception in November 1997, L.P.P. (Load Point Pull) has had one goal: Deliver tasteful and appealing yet hard-hitting rock 'n roll to a market with a wide variety of listening preferences. With this goal (and several ideas) in mind, Doug and Frank put their ideas on DAT. Focused on the same goal, John and Aaron were natural fits for L.P.P. Officially formed in January 1998, L.P.P. took its "in your face" sound to the stage and tested the waters with several performances. Charged by overwhelming crowd response, L.P.P. was confident that they were on track and moved into the studio to record "the new sound". Completely committed to their project, L.P.P. spent the next eight weeks recording and producing their debut LP "We've Come To Take What's Ours". L.P.P. stretched schedules and finances to complete the CD prior to their self-imposed deadline of April 5th. Pleased with their efforts and satisfied that the CD was true to their goal, L.P.P. shifted their focus back to performing as a group and polishing their live performance. To establish a presence and prepare for their April 28th CD release engagement, L.P.P. played several shows in Salt Lake City UT. L.P.P. also interviewed with KRAR K-Rock in Salt Lake City where they now have two songs in rotation: "Sentimental Genocide" receiving a noteworthy 29 spins a week, and "Rain" receiving an honorable mention of 16 spins a week.Upon their April 26th return to Kansas City, L.P.P. was featured and interviewed by 98.9 KQRC on the radio show "Unsigned". (L.P.P. has been featured two other times and appeared again March 28th to promote a benefit for an ill friend of Kansas Citys rock scene.)On April 28th, L.P.P. released "We've Come To Take What's Ours" and performed for a capacity crowd at Roadhouse Ruby's in Kansas City. With even greater crowd response, L.P.P. was very pleased when they learned that they had sold 82 CDs to the 500+ member audience.Several days later, L.P.P. was invited by KQRC to perform at their sold-out "Rockfest 98" at Sandstone Amphitheater (18,500) in Bonner Springs KS. L.P.P. played in support of Creed, Stabbing Westward, Brother Cane, and Big Wreck. L.P.P. also left with the right to boast second-best merchandise sales.August 27 - 29, L.P.P. returned to Utah to perform in Provo and at KRAR K-Rocks sold-out "1st Annual Birthday Bash" in Salt Lake City. September 4, L.P.P. returned to Sandstone Amphitheater in Bonner Springs, KS to perform at 98.9 KQRCs "Rockfest II" where they performed in support of Candlebox, Local H, Monster Magnet, Seven Mary 3, and Anthrax.September 15th, L.P.P. performed on a televised appearance of WDAF Fox4s Midday Show to promote a benefit for the Synergy House for Battered Women and Children at Hodge Park Amphitheater in Kansas City. During November, L.P.P. began working on new material. In December, L.P.P. finalized and laid down four tracks for their as-of-yet untitled CD at Chapman Studios in Kansas City. L.P.P. is planning on a late spring release for their next CD.L.P.P recently performed at two charity benefits. March 31st, 98.9 KQRC, L.P.P. and 700 fans helped raise $3500 for an ill America's Pub employee. April 10th, L.P.P. performed at a fund-raiser for the American Cancer Societies "Relay for Life". |

Press Reviews
Heavy rock and metal never died, and it never will if local thundergods Load Point Pull have anything to say about it. The band's self-made debut, We've Come to Take What's Ours, recalls the heady days of the early '80s before immense egos and sinful amounts of hairspray came to define the genre. And yet the band also pulls out some modern tricks from the hard rock world within its 11 massive songs. Imagine Sebastian Bach of Skid Row fronting a supergroup comprised of various members of Mötley Crüe, Dokken and several latter day Ozzy sidemen and you might get close to Load Point Pull's pummeling sounds. Standouts include the slow burner "Rain," the beefy "Lifetime" and the over-the-top theatrics of "Sentimental Genocide." Load Point Pull just might be poised for the return of hard rock's next wave. -- As reviewed in the March 18 - 24, 1999 PitchWeekly by Jeff Brown |
