She collaborates w/ NYC writer Marc Hoffman as well as George Karak, (writer of Bon Jovi's 'Runaway'), amongst others. As a musician, Lauren has played acoustic piano/synth on Lou Reed tracks, as well as on Susan Werner's debut album 'Last of the Good Straight Girls' on Private Music/BMG. And for the last several years, Lauren has worked closely as a vocalist/keyboardist for world-class bassist and MCA writer, Fernando Saunders. On the side, Lauren studies piano performance in the Juilliard School's Evening Division in NYC. She also volunteers monthly for "Musicians On Call", doing in-room performances for terminally ill patients at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.
As an artist, Lauren fits into today's Pop/Adult Contemporary format. Lauren has developed an internet presence, marked by the popularity of the single 'Believe' on MP3.com (Regularly Featured Pop/Rock track, Popular track on MP3.com's 'Business Music Service' retail offering), SoundClick.com (#1 on the Top 40 chart), MP3 Europe Alliance-MP3.DE,MP3.ES, MP3.IT, MP3.FR (#1 on site) FranceMp3.com (#1 on the Pop/Rock Chart) and Musicmatch.com (#2 Most Popular Download). Press Reviews
"Lauren Gibbs sings really great, and I am honored she sang a song of mine." -- Glen Burtnik, Hit Songwriter and STYX member "Her vocal control and fluidity, along with her polished songwriting, and rockin' group of musicians who backed her, made me wish I had a record company to sign her to." "...she proved this night that she deserved the accolades given her rich, confident voice." -- The Music Paper's Musician's Exchange "Lauren Gibbs understands the value of a terrific pop tune. She will make you 'Believe' in her special voice and energizing radio-ready sound." --AMP3.COM 'Pick Hit of the Day' 6/29/99 "In the time-honored tradition of Debbie Gibson, Lauren's been playing the piano since she was knee-high to an 8-Track player. And it shows: these pop-savvy tunes are more chipper than the climax of a Coen brothers flick." S. Bardeen, Listen.com "Classy 'easy listening' pop fronted by an obviously talented female vocalist"--5/1/00 Popwire.com "... a beautiful, pure, organic voice has the right elements of country and pop to touch the heart almost immediately." -- Fernando Saunders, bassist/MCA writer/producer/singer (www.fernandosaunders.com) "Elegant AC pop from this New Jersey based songstress. With an impressive list of credits as a musician, including work with rock immortal Lou Reed, this lady is truly a multi-dimensional package." AOL Musician of the Week/TONOS.com 6/2002 "American Pride was one of the 2 songs we chose to play on 9/11! Thank Lauren for her song which gave us a 'star spangled sparkle!'. Lauren is the caliber of artist that we would play if she was on a major label."--WSUL, Monticello, NY
