Artist History
Growing up as the seventh child in a musical Cape Breton family, Cyril was immersed in kitchen ceilidhs. He remains deeply dedicated to friends and family, making his home near St. Peter's, Cape Breton Island. Cyril was heavily influenced by his father's Cape Breton fiddling; Irish, Scottish, Country and Bluegrass music as well as the songwriting of the late Stan Rogers. Cyril has been playing professionally since the age of eighteen. In addition to his solo album and recordings with Brakin' Tradition, his previous group, Notework, was featured on a National CBC recording with members of the Nova Scotia Symphony. He also made a guest appearance on fiddle virtuoso, Ray Legere's album, Back Against the Wind. As a solo artist he has performed with Natalie MacMaster, John Allen Cameron and Ray Legere. |
