Artist History
The aggressive raw energy and professional tight sound
BFI is known for it's no accident. The band originated as
an independent project by keyboardist/vocalist Darren
Johnston, a classically-trained pianist and recording
enthusiast who created the band's techno-industrial
backbone in 1989. Guitarists Shawn Dudar and Rick Bujak,
who previously opened for shows like Jesus Lizard and Jon
Spencer Blues Explosion with their former band, Meatrack,
joined BFI in 1990 and 1996 respectively. Vocalist John
Richter and drummer Rob Shallcross completed the band's
intense sound shortly after. |
