Out of his frustration with the lack of quality in modern music, Rob produced his own demo of how he felt it should be done, and soon captured the attention of all who heard it.With an inborn need to perform live, he then recruited the New York area's top unknown talent for his band. Bass Of Spades is currently workingon local performances and amassing a large grassroots following. Bass Of Spades is now in the process of writing new music with the current lineup consisting of: Rob Kamen ( Vocals, Bass, andKeys), Mike Pacheco(guitar and vocals) and Johnny Rez (acoustic and electronic drums). As usual, you can expect some surprises! Their writing is based on the philosiphy of doing the "not-been-done-yet", but heavy and danceable! Rob says, "We don't go for the old cookie-cutter formula music. Our biggest issue is to rise above the average when it comes to song writing. Personally, I get annoyed when the radio plays NEW stuff that just sounds like same-shit-different-winey-voiced-singer! I consider myself a hard-core music fan, not to say I like 'hard core metal' with the garbled vocals and unintelligable egg-beater beats. But that I like, well, music that is above average, unique, yet pleasing to the ears. Gets you groovin, dig? I love music that goes deeper than just the surface. When you listen to Bass Of Spades for the twentieth time, I guarantee there will still be aspects of the songs that you haven't discovered the first nineteen times around!"
