Artist History
At the very end of 1982, Peter met Brendan Perry and Lisa Gerrard who had brought Dead Can Dance to London from Melbourne, Australia, minus their original drummer. He was invited to join, and six months later they signed to 4AD and began recording the first album. Between 1983 and 1995 Peter played on three DCD albums, the ‘Garden of the Arcane Delights’ EP and both BBC Radio John Peel sessions, and played on all but two DCD tours. He contributed the track ‘At First, And Then’ to This Mortal Coil’s ‘Filigree and Shadow’ album (1986), an extended version of which was regularly performed by DCD in subsequent live sets. He has also made incidental percussion contributions to 4AD albums by The Wolfgang Press, and by Pieter Nooten (of Xymox) & Michael Brook. In 1990 he recorded two tracks at John A Rivers’s Woodbine Street Studios - ‘Taqaharu’s Leaving’ and ‘Evocation’. These were released on a limited edition 12" vinyl single on his own Cornerstone label. In 1997 he recorded another six pieces with Brendan at his Quivvey Church Studio in Ireland and these, together with the earlier two were released in 1999 as his debut solo album ‘Pathways and Dawns’ on Projekt (the New York and Chicago-based label). |
