Artist description we were children following a beautiful dream, stuck by circumstance in a small town. we had no resources. we knew it would come to an end, and we had a few months to make as much music as we could possibly make; before the inner workings of a small town tore us apart. it was hard letting it go, but we've grown so much as people and as artists since then.. the dream is still alive in all of us, and this site is here as a monument to what we tried to accomplish... the first two songs are taken from the first legendary recording session, where, after only two weeks of rehearsals, we recorded an album's worth of material, each in one take (with possibly one exception)."roadside wishes" in particular well demonstrates a considerable melodic intelligence extremely early in our careers. the second two are from a demo session three months later, where we had already begun a metamorphosis as writers, taking a completely different evolutionary direction... when considering the vast range of emotion and feeling that these songs touch upon, taking into account the incredibly short timespan we were given to work with, there is no doubt in my mind, that had we all been five years older and wiser prior to this phenomenon, marlow's steamboat might well be the led zeppelin of our generation. a toast to might-have-been's...- 2-3-01 -

Artist History i followed cameron from california to pennsylvania, hell-bent on forming a band with my best friend. the whole time i had planned on using college as an excuse to get us in the same town together again.. after i dropped out of carnegie mellon university and moved to sewickley, a dear friend, matthew became a singer for the first time, speaking through us with a golden voice and bringing many tears of joy.. soon after, matthew introduced us to a thirteen year old prodigy named daniel. his playing was so immediate, so beautiful and spoke in ways that speech could not. the core of this band was finally complete. along with several drummers, we managed to record about seventy minutes worth of music in 14 months, played a few shows, and made a difference in a handful of people's lives before inevitability snuffed our tiny flame.
