Artist History
Elliot Steger has performed solo and with bands since his teenage years. Most recently he has collaborated with Josh Davis on bass and Karen Kocharyan from Boston for his new CD, "Transition". "Images" contains 16 solo piano songs illusrating my background in classical, jazz, and rock music and could best be categorized as New Age. Songs such as "Jessica" are reminiscent of George Winston and others such as "Cat Romp" have a pop/rock Billy Joel-like quality. Fans have used this CD in a variety of settings including personal meditation, photography seminar presentations, daycare centers, operating rooms, and even a national horseback riding competition. "Transtion" contains 8 solo piano songs and 4 for trio including acoustic bass and drums. It is a transition to a more standard jazz and blues style with more complex chord structures, rhythms, and improvisation while maintaining a focus on a strong melody line. Both CD's have been featured on jazz radio station WICN and a recent article in The Boston Globe. |
