Artist description
David Butler and Ray Crooks are a Modern Country Singer/Songwriter duo from the Northeast. The two writers have been creating music together for over ten years in various musical incarnations before forming what is now known as Butler Crooks. The duo’s influences vary greatly from rock and roll legends such as Elvis, The Beatles, The Everly Brothers, Sam Cooke, and Buddy Holly to legendary and contemporary country artists such as Hank Williams Sr., B.J. Thomas, Charlie Rich, Garth Brooks, and Little Texas. Butler and Crooks have spent several years as well-seasoned performers entertaining thousands on the New England county fair and club circuits as members of various musical acts. Butler Crooks' unique Modern Country sound came to fruition in April 1999 when they formed a collaboration with a Nashville engineer in a studio on Music Row. The catchy, melodic pop melodies of Butler Crooks formed a perfect marriage with the Nashville Sound. Their tight two-part harmonies, distinct tenor vocal style, and strong song craftsmanship make Butler Crooks a highly marketable Country music commodity with endless possibilities for cross-over into the pop market. |
