    Artist History
Bob Evola has been writing and performing music since the late 1960s. Born and raised in New York City, Bob learned to play the Alto Saxophone in school and quickly realized playing in an ensemble worked well, but that the Sax as a solo instrument left much to be desired. He traded in his Sax for a portable organ, which became not only his love, but also, his favorite means of expression.Bob played in a number of NYC based bands working his way through college playing late-night gigs in bars and clubs. In 1975 he quit the club scene to focus on writing original material. With a love for Classical music, he blended contemporary progressive rock and classical music together. With the help of local friends writing lyrics, they created unique songs that he and his band Andromeda performed (concert style) in the NYC area.In 1979, Bob moved from New York, spending two years in Madison Wisconsin, eventually settling down in the suburbs of Atlanta Georgia. For the last 20 years, Bob has continued to write primarily for himself, and has also devoted much of his time in working with his church as a music and choral director. During that time, Bob has written several Masses, hymns, and children’s songs, which are performed in area churches.Making use of numerous electronic keyboards, Bob’s music has become a solidification of his feelings and his greatest form of expression. He makes use of counter melodies, rhythms, tempos, and textures to create a sound experience that is relaxing and uplifting. His latest self-produced CD titled, "The Journey", is the culmination of the last two years of writing and recording.
