Artist History
5 Seconds Expired were known as Slush from Burlington, VT for 3 years, until the signing of a 2-record deal with Another Planet Records (owned by Profile Records) in 1996. Shortly after, the band discovered another band using the name Slush, and changed its name to 5 seconds expired to avoid any confusion surrounding the 2 bands. 'NULL' was an 8-song CD which was released in June 1996 and received many favorable reviews in national trade magazines such as Gavin, CMJ, Hit Parader, Modern Drummer, Album Network, Metal Maniacs, Hits, Rip, Guitar Player, etc., and charted on national radio charts for several weeks.5 seconds did not have much luck with the distribution of 'NULL', making the album hard to find in music stores, and the band had some problems touring. With lack of tour support and the band booking themselves, 5 Seconds Expired were released from the Another Planet contract. Another Planet Records has since dropped its full roster of bands and has disappeared into the void. Asof November of 2000 5 seconds have returned to rock the world. A new album isin the works to be released in 2001. |
