    Artist History
History Next Waste Dimension is a three piece band who melt old school death metal with a modern techno synth sound. The story of Next Waste Dimension begins in the year 2000 when drummer Jorik Tijssen, vocalist/guitarist Rikkert Achtereekte and bass/synths player Niels Achtereekte decide to start a groovy death metal band. They already knew each other from their previous bands/projects and decided to join forces to start working on a combination of heavy guitars, groovy drums, death grunts, bass and techno synths. By not only combining the heavy guitars with atmospheric sounds but also with analog synths the music became energetic and powerful. The music had various styles and tempos, but a recognisable metal/tech sound. Next Waste Dimension uses click track to combine live drumming with different sequencer, sample and syths parts. By means of this system Next Waste Dimension is enabled to perform the music just as it sounds on their demo. Links Besides Next Waste Dimension, Niels also plays bass in the death metal band Pre Mortem (Official Pre Mortem Homepage). Besides Next Waste Dimension, Rikkert also plays guitar in the electro/industrial band Grafter (Official Grafter Homepage). Demo Spring/Summer 2001 a start was made with the recording of Next Waste Dimension's first demo: "The Delta Machine". This creative and educational process resulted in a 6 track demo, that shows how Next Waste Dimension sounds like (live). The musical variety of Next Waste Dimension can best be heard by listening to for example "Technofobia" and "1st Encounter". Lyrics "The Delta Machine" is the story of The Beginning (alpha), The End (omega) and the evolution and change of mankind that lies in between (delta). "The Delta Machine" tells about the positive and negative effects of decisions and changes made by man. "Technofobia" for example tells about the ignorant resistance against the useful application of technology by some. "Planet" on the other hand tells about the polluting, destructive influence the industry has on our planet. Question: is progression always improvement? Mankind seems just an indecisive, altering machine: "The Delta Machine".
