Artist description
The quartet takes their name from lyrics to a song written by the legendary songwriter Van Morrison, entitled “Sweet Thing”. Although this song may not be suggestive of their sound, it is suggestive of their varied influences and more importantly of their intention- which is to craft songs with just as much genuine mood and emotion as “Sweet Thing”. When listening to their music, Against Tomorrow’s Sky hopes that the effort they have made to instill melodic songs with as much heart as they can without resorting to lyrical clichs and exaggerated angst will come across. To A.T.S., melody and lyrics are just as important as smashing drums and loud guitars. They have shared the stage with such acts as Built To Spill, Spoon, Cursive, The Good Life, Dressy Bessy, Planes Mistaken For Stars, Pedro the Lion, Radio 4, Girls VS. Boys, Imperial Teen, Grant Hart, Hemi Cuda, The Pattern, Midsummer, Breaking Pangaea, 764-HERO, The Lost Sounds, Brendan Benson, 34 Satellite, The Liars Academy, & Brandtson. |
