Artist History
The Reign Men, Ste'lar and Illicit, met in 1999 at UNC-Chapel Hill's "CTOPS" orientation for incoming freshmen. Upon the start of the school year, the two united in rhyme and began making songs in November of 1999 for their record label "Chozen." In March of 2000, the two decided to begin performing and promoting themselves and their label through performing at a hiphop show put on by Hip Hop Nation, a UNC-CH campus organization. Since then, the Reing Men have been performing at and around UNC-CH and preparing to release their debut album, "GAMETIME: The Struggle." |

Press Reviews
"Reign Men set the mood of the show with its raw, underground sound. Member Jason Weathers, a.k.a. Ste'lar, kept the crowd pumped with his strong presence as he spit on the mic, while partner Brandon Jones, a.k.a. Illicit, accompanied with Jay-Z influenced rhymes." |
