Artist History
Mauro Oliveira is hardly a shrinking violet. Music Connection Magazine called him "the big suprise, the warrior child with a bright future". Bottom line is if he wants to do it, music, stage, video... whatever gets the point made, well, then he does it. He is known for shocking imagery and confrontational lyrics as well as sensual endearings. US Gig Television viewers voted the Mauro experience superior and AMZ calls him the "Musical Ghandi". Mauro just calls himself a "control freak".Mauro is currently recording his third self produced CD. The last one, IC2 was accompanied by 6 music videos, also self produced. IC2 garnished a World Music for Freedom Award and the music video "Winds" received a USA Film festival award. Along with his music, much of Mauro's multi-media work has been inspired by his sociol activism. His belief that it is a critical time on Earth spawned the image "21st Century Child" a major statement in sustainability. The image was recognized world-wide through the United Nations sponsered Peace Prayer Day. Mauro also produced the sound track for the Bells of Hope children's ceremony that launched the first Clinton Inaugural. Mauro is the founder or co-founder of several non-profit sociol organizations including The Northern Arizona Inidgenous Peoples Defense Fund and SOL, a human rights group. He is currently producing a documentary about the Traditional Hopi-Navajo resistance to forced relocation on Black Mesa in northern Arizona. Mauro was born in Brazil and has native blood on both his mother and father's side. All music, music videos, documentaries and art can be purchased directly from Mauro.
