Artist History Early in the winter of 1999, a band was created! Dave Grant (guitar) answered an ad from a musicians classified online. There he found singer/ songwriter Scott Cater. Scott had recently relocated to Florida for the music scene. Dave already in an existing band, just needed a singer. Scott was hired and the journey began. The weeks went by. Dave and Scott realized that they themselves needed to search out for other musicians with their drive and dedication.The long arduous journey began for the right members to complete what has now become LYVID. With numerous if not endless tryouts for different drummers and bass players, Dave and Scott never gave up because they knew that their future members were out there. They received a phone call from a bass player that just arrived in town from Maine. Steve Church. He was in a local music store and answered one of their numerous ad's placed out. Steve didn't have a place to stay or many belongings, just his bass and a desire to play in Orlando. After hearing the demo the guys had made, he loved it immediatley. Steve choose to enter LYVID. They heard him play and they thought that he would be a great addition to the band. One down, One to go! The band was at a stand still without a drummer. Again the band searched and searched for the right person. He didn't seem to exist. They were beginning to wonder if they'd ever find a drummer. Months passed by and finally someone with some real skills answered the drummer wanted ad! Juan Urbina. Juan a recent resident to the United States, by way of, Venezuela had no luck with past musical experiences here in Orlando. The cultural difference made all the difference. With Juan from another part of the world and a different style to his playing, he was the missing link to the bands' agressive, yet melodic sound! With the nucleus in place, and the music scene in the area starving for some in your face, pure hard rock, LYVID is sure to please even the most die hard music fan. From the airwaves or Real Radio's Monsters of the Midday to the clubs and venues around the area LYVID is surely going to be a force to be reckoned with.
