Then Andy, Ian, and Brian played in a band together and decided to call it "Last Ditch Effort." Shows were played. Friends were made. Fun was had. Then Andy, Ian, Brian, and Ben playedin a band together and decided to still call it "Last Ditch Effort." A Split CD with Stillwell was released. New songs were written. Tracks were contributed to comps. Then Brian left and Andy, Ian, Ben, and Mark played in a band together that was still called the same thing. More fun was had. More shows played. Then Mark moved and Andy, Ian, Ben, and Chris played in a band and it was decided that it would be called "Last Ditch Effort" for sake of a common theme. Press Reviews
from Punk Planet #39, Sept./Oct. 2000"Stillwell play discordant indie with touches of early 90's DC, or mid 90's Chicago. I could picture them opening up for Cap'n Jazz and Kerosene 454. Last Ditch Effort are similar, but a little more upbeat. Their vocals are shouted more and the music is a little more hectic." -Neal Shahfrom Maximum RockNRoll #208, Sept. 2000 "...a split CD with Stillwell (who have a tweeky guitar sound and tinny drums that create an effect much like 33 rpm played at 45) and Last Ditch Effort (whose guitars seem a little out of tune and jangled with coarse and kurt vocal accompaniment. It almost gets to Midwest emo-pep rally but sinks back into a sour mood)..." -Tom Hopkin |
