Artist description
EightPointFour was formed in the Fall of 2000 by four musicians with diverse
and unique influences, but with a shared creative focus. Their styles and
songwriting melded almost immediately, and by December they had recorded
their first demo. EightPointFour began playing shows at venues across the
D.C./Baltimore area, and in late February managed to schedule a weekend in
the studio with producer Frank Marchand (Nothingface, Live Alien Broadcast,
Jimmie's Chicken Shack, Good Charlotte, Click). The resulting 5-song EP
landed the group a spot as the only unsigned band on a WHFS compilation CD,
released in late April 2001. The featured song was "Unwanted" , which
showcases EightPointFour's unique ability to seamlessly combine lighter
melodic songwriting with darker, heavier, and more intense styles of music.
Soon after, 98 Rock featured another song, "Lifeless," on their weekly local
music show. EightPointFour are continuing to play in as many venues as
possible around
D.C. and Baltimore, while staying committed to writing aggressive, melodic,
dramatic songs that affect their audiences.
