Artist description
Seeping from Philadelphia with moody vocals, and intense energy that builds to ignite any crowd. We've been described as a hard rock version of Radiohead. CODEGIVEN begins with solid melodic songs then adds a hypnotic edge through effects and unmerciful distortions. Continue on the path that led you here. See you at the end. |

Artist History
CODEGIVEN began in Summer 1998 in Richmond, VA. After 2 years of hard work and growing success, we knew we needed a jumpstart. In a very "VH1 Behind The Music" sort of way, we overcame the loss of a drummer and moved to a new city. Philadelphia is where we landed and we're beginning to once again impact people's lives. Your continued support has brought the band to where we are today. |

Press Reviews
CODEGIVEN's debut CD, "Come Up For Air," promises to impact the rock scene in a big way. Finally a rock CD that lasts for more than one or two good songs! Come Up For Air takes listeners on an epic journey through many peaks and valleys and is packed full of both energy and emotion. The CD flows like no other and allows listeners to slip into hypnotic state of being... not sure of where you are or why you're here... but surprisingly comfortable.Songs such as "Indecipherable", "Swamp Ash" and "Volatility" are instant stimulants. This infectious type of rock can literally pick a crowd up off of their feet and enhance an already energetic show. The CD is also filled with some of the moodiest songs in rock to date. CODEGIVEN has mastered the art of MOOD in their music. The hauntingly beautiful "48" is deeply introspective and takes listeners into a trance-like state while exploring the meaning found within the difficulties of life. Perhaps the most compelling element of CODEGIVEN resonates in their epic songs. "Liquid Children" is the type of epic that could become a theme song for a generation. It is a silent scream... a wake-up call for a society that has been losing touch with what's important in life. "Erased?" also brings forth a compelling message. The lyric "Are you being erased?" has become a mantra for each member of this band and many of their fans.“Come Up For Air” is diversified and capped off with heavy grunge tones in "The Scarecrow", the uniquely rhythmic "Flood Behavior", the magnetically charged particle that is "Cobwebs", and the tribally inspired "Into The River" and "Colorless". The common denominator of this entire CD might be lyrics. Brad's haunting lyrics decode to deliver a greater message of meaning and direction for our lives. With an innate poetic nature, Come Up For Air’s words are sincere and provocative, to say the least. According to their author, Brad says "you may not have chosen this CD... perhaps it chose you. Follow the path, free your mind and you will never look back."- EmergingArtistsOnline.com |
