Artist History American Tragedy was conceived in San Diego, CA.1998 with Singer and Drummer Andrew Miller, and Justin Greene. With a few basic song ideas, the two completed their line up with Guitarist Jon Greene, and Bassist Chris Mullen. With a full line-up American Tragedy proceeded to play their first show, and release their first nine-song demo, ?Children of War.? After playing consecutive shows and building a constant fan base, American Tragedy replaced bassist Chris Mullen with bassist Todd Shields. Shortly after their replacing Chris, American tragedy added second guitarist, Ryan Douglass, completing their current line up. After several demo recording sessions, American Tragedy went in the studio to record for a split with San Diego local, ?The Cause.? After the releasing of their split, American Tragedy went back in the studio to record for two comps. Including bands such as Poison the Well, Botch, Brothers Keeper, Good Riddance, Old Man Gloom, Drowning not Waving, Death by Stereo, etc. In American Tragedy?s existence, they have shared the stage with bands like The Hope Conspiracy, Carry On, Converge, Over My Dead Body, Built to Last, In Reply, Countervail, Buried Alive, Death Threat, No Innocent Victim, Swindle, Dragbody, Curl Up and Die, Palpatine, The Cause, The US Bombs etc.
