Artist History
Hard work and dedication are beginning to payoff for the energetic Pittsburgh Punk/Pop band Almost Cool. Selling over 1,000 copies of their first CD, Sorry But You’re Not a Winner and racking up over 8,900 plays on MP3.com, the band is beginning to feel the effects of a rapidly growing fan base.
Almost Cool is a four-piece band based out of Waynesburg, Pennsylvania, about an hour south of Pittsburgh. Three of the members; Josh Morton (guitar/vocals), Jason Romanus (drums), and Jimi Romanus (bass/vocals) have been together for over two years, while Derek Singleton (guitar/vocals) has just recently been added to the group. The band’s musical style contains hook driven choruses with sing-a-long lyrics, capped appropriately with a youth-loving, must-see stage presence.
Almost Cool’s pride lies in knowing that they have self-financed their every purchase, and every step. Finally able to finance a tour van, Almost cool is ambitiously planning a full U.S. tour for Summer ’03. Almost Cool has shared the stage with the likes of the RX Bandits, No Motiv, Riddlin’ Kids, Home Grown, Punchline, Wakefield, The Fight, and River City Rebels to name some. The band’s musical style contains hook driven choruses with many harmonies and melodies along the way. Influences of Almost Cool are Punchline, New Found Glory, and The Ataris to name a few.
