The Replacements, Billy Bragg, Husker Du, Ani Difranco (note: admired but NOT imitated), The Weakerthans, Propagandhi, The Frenetics, any political folky types. |

Similar Artists
Like Billy Bragg and Propagandhi and the Weakerthans in certain small parts. Otherwise, riot nrrd is totally, completely original. Honest. |
 |
Artist History
Formed in Montreal when assorted friends of mine got together part time. The name was stolen from the hand-written front of a t-shirt that some woman was wearing at an anarchist conference in Toronto in 1998. |
 |
Group Members
Generally, riot nrrd functions as a loosely-organized collective that changes every time I move cities. Past members have included Marc Cyr (aka Astar the Robot) on drums, Malcolm Bauld on bass, and Grayson Cooke on percussion and technology. Future album will have Malcolm and some drummer I haven't yet located. |

Instruments
guitars, drums, the usual - but with some neat percussion and a cello thrown in occasionally. |

Kingston, Ontario - Canada |
