Artist History
Jerry Rabuck (my Dad)was a Jazz drummer/singer for most of his life.My bro's and I grew up around great musicians such as Billy Rogers and John Mallor...In the last few years of Jerry's life, we formed the band RAYBUX and did a lot of Studio recording. After he passed away in 1996,my brothers started their Christian band Jacobs Well....I have only recently returned to music after a long struggle with depression and alcoholism.I would go months at a time without even practicing. After my Dads death, the family was reluctant to let me be in possesion of his Gibson 335,for it was well known that I was a drunk and had hocked away most of my equipment for bar money over the years. It was not untill I had stopped drinking long enough to convince them that I was serious in my rehabilitation, and would only part with the guitar when someone pried it from my cold, dead, hand; that I was allowed to have it. Even then I would only take it out of the case from time to time to clean and restring it.It was too painful for me to plug it in. I eventually felt that to keep such a beautiful instrument locked away, never to play the music it was meant for was a crime....Now look what I've gone and done... |
