    Artist description
Pietin are a Insane bunch of maniacks, who love music. "Who cares what people think". They always make an impresion on people, sometimes good, and sometimes bad, but who really cares. They throw themselves around on the stage, like a dog with rabies in a cattle raunch, and the audiance seems to like it.

    Artist History
The band started off in 1998 as a Two Piece consisting of Chris Davison(Dee - Guitar)and Hadley Trounson(Hadley - Drums). They went through a few differn't Members including differnt keyboarders, bassists and vocalists, with little sucess. Jonathan Slack(Slacker - Bass) joined as "manager" and later took up the bass. They Competed in the Rock Quest the following two years, in the second year(2000) they made it through to the Regonal finals, and stunned a few people with their increadibly odd apperances. They have done a few gigs, but nothing major... yet.

    Press Reviews
"Relentless Guitar Solo a Winner. In a smart grey waistcoat, loud tie, heavy-framed glasses falling off his nose and a big cheesy grin, the Papanui High School Musician looks like a diminutive and Geekier Mike Myers. Chris Davison and his grey-suited gawky side-kick comprise an unlikely-looking "rock" band called pietin which had the audiance in Kaiapoi High School auditorium giggling. Until they start to play.If it wasn't so loud you would hear jaws drop. Their instrumental turns out to be a relentless guitar solo by the son-of-Austin-Powers. It's pure heavy metal virtuosity, his fingers moving at lightning speedalong the fret board, interspersed with runs accross the stage, arms flailing. He pauses in the middle of a particulary flashing guitar twiddle to flash a big bright cheeky smile at the crowd, who cheer. They can't belive what they are seeing but they love it. When Pietin Finally finish, teh audience rise to their feet for a standing ovation." - "One-out-of-the-bag, three piece Pietin (Papanui High) was demented genius,a kind of Ray Columbus on acid. Someone sign then up for anadd campaign, quick." (Christchurch Press)
