Artist History
In the last five years, the Suburban Cowboys, have had to learn how to divide their time, talent, and energy between their original Country-Rock band and their successful suburban family lives. Although very few bands can pull this off, the Suburban Cowboys seem to be doing surprisingly well. They have toured throughout the United States, Europe, South America, and the Caribbean. All five members of the band were born and raised in suburbia and have vowed to stay true to their pure suburban roots no matter how rich and famous they become in the music business. Blending serious and sarcastic lyrics with Country-Rock melodies, Art Halperin, (lead singer and songwriter), has enjoyed accolades from such organizations as the American Society of Composers, Artists & Publishers; and USA Songwriting Competition. Discovered by legendary producer and talent scout John Hammond Sr., Art Halperin was the first artist signed on Hammond/CBS Records where he completed a ten-song album. As a solo artist, Art has shared the stage with Eric Clapton, Bonnie Raitt, Marty Stuart, Doc Watson, David Grissman and Glenn Tillbrook. As a composer, Halperin's songs have appeared on Billboard's R&B, Pop, and Classical charts. He's also written and recorded for many national and international television and radio commercials. Most recently (and in between Ed's golfing)the Suburban Cowboys have completed a 13-song CD that blends their own unique style of Country/Rock. |

Press Reviews
Down Home Kick-ass Country-rock with incredibly sardonic lyrics by frontman/songwriter Art Ski. If you like pure country the Suburban Cowboys will probably offend you. If you like good music, these Cowboys will make you long for your good 'ol Suburban roots...Dan Geeterburg/Yee Haw Times 1999 |
