    Artist description
Fusing strong songwriting and vocals with a breakbeat, drum & bass, techno, and guitar sensibility, Point 1 brings the future of rock to the masses. Merging technology and emotion with such influences as The Crystal Method, Photek, David Bowie, Grooverider, Goldie, Rage, Korn, Sabbath, Lords of Acid and Future Sound of London, Point 1 creates a distinctive and engaging sound in a genre where many bands fail to do so. •• Point 1 (as 6 degrees) released their debut album, "audioporn," in May 1998, on their own Groove King Records -- on which they plan to eventually release the work of other rock & electronic musicians as well.

    Artist History
The four band members have worked together extensively in the past, having all been part of Seattle favorites Rosary Wall. As such, the chemistry between the members is phenomenally well-balanced and conducive to forming a unified whole, where each member is "on the same wavelength." Guitarist Eric Snyder, drummer Chase Culp, bassist/keyboardist Darren Howard and vocalist Len Hotrum, agree that there's no going back; they'd sooner leave music altogether than work with anyone else. •• Just before forming 6º, the band appeared as Rosary Wall on Catastrophe Records' compilation CD, "The Glory of Destruction," with the original version of "Jesus Loves the Children," Rosary Wall's first and only CD appearance. This track has proved to be a favorite of music critics and fans alike, and has been called "the best track on the compilation" several times over.Durning the past 2 years Point 1(formerly 6 degrees) recorded one full length cd (under the name 6 degrees). The cd was entitled "Audioporn". The album received much acclaim and landed the band opening live performances for Gravity Kills, Pitchshifter, Cyclefly, God Lives Underwater, and KNDD radio's Endfest in the Electronic Pavillion with Pigeonhead, Crystal Method, Dust Brothers, Donald Glaude, and others. Also all tracks from the "Audioporn" cd where featured on MTV's "Real World Seattle" and "Road Rules". After being forced to change the name of the band from 6 degrees to Point 1 (because of legal reasons) The band stepped back into the studio with producer Scott Olson (Deftones, Alice in Chains, Limp Bizkit,) and began recording music for the next release. Currently 2 songs "Television" and "Chemical Religion" are available on MP3.com
