Artist description
Oil Experts is a five piece band based in Bristol, drawn together from an experiment at the end of 1997 - an antedote to shared frustrations awakening from the spiritual anaesthetic of call centre work and the creative void between live music and a dance culture prone to tail-chasing. The band's low-tech, cut-and-paste approach to blending live acoustic and electronic sounds with diverse vocal rhythms and a distinct sense of humour sets them apart from any contemporaries whose line-up might tempt comparison. Through their dedication Oil Experts earned the Venue Magazine best local Release of 1998 accolade, in addition to a multitude of club and festival performances, notably Ashton Court festival's celebrated Ampitheatre stage, the Brighton Essential festival, The Lizard festival's main stage and Glastonbury's Jazz stage in front of 5,000 people. On a sound system they kick, on stage they rock. Listen and enjoy, then check them out live. |
