Artist description
The music on Strength Of Balance was my first attempt at writing instrumental music and incorporating odd meters. The material is really not about harmony and meldoy, it is about raw energy and attitude.ô |

Press Reviews
Mike Haid - Strength Of Balance Strength Of Balance features instrumental material that rides the edge between fusion and funk, and the production shows a keen ear for sound and balance. Mike's drumming is right on the money, and reveals an easy adapta bility to a variety of chopulous styles and challenging hurdles. On?All Funked Up? Mike performs a solo that really catches the ear. It emerges out of a hard rock format that bounces back and forth between 4/4 and 7/4, and serves as a thoughtful transition to a legato section. Even more surprising, the drums continue to solo over the lush string sounds, playing melodies and textures instead of muscular patterns. Pretty imaginative stuff!
