Artist description
Omega Johnson, a/k/a Gaijin Red, is a classic sort of hip-hop artist who hits his audience with both freestyle and conscious lyrics on life and hip-hop, over melodic head-banging production. His style is elusive in feel, as it spreads across jazz, alternative, and classic hip-hop moods. Omega flows with intellectual vision and hardcore stamina. |

Artist History
omega Johnson has been an avid hip-hop artist since 1985, his roots and involvement in hip-hop culture going back to "tags" on walls and breakdancing battles in the streets of Southeast Jamaica, New York. Some in New York might remember Omega from the group Mhorlocks, which ripped through the underground scene from 1992-95. He's performed on Apollo's Amateur Night, and has been interviewed by Ralph McDaniels on NYC's "Video Music Box". Gaijin has also done advertisements for Avirex and has had affiliations with hip-hop groups Bush Babees and Dwellas. |
