Artist description Down Five is a very versatile band. Each band member has different musical influences, and brings something unique to the table. Collectively we are capable of writing several different styles of music. We can write softer melodic tunes, or all out heavy alternative rock. I think we have a good mix of songs. We hope that by offering such a different sound everyone will find something they like about Down Five's music. I know that all musician's have their own style of writing music, but I think band's sometimes forget that you do not have to make all your songs sound the same or write them in the same style. Artist History Down Five was formed in August of 2000. I was looking to start an all original band. I was getting tired of playing in cover bands and playing in original bands where I was the only one in the band with any drive. Since I had been writing my own music since I started playing back 10 years ago. I decided now was the time to go all out and give it 110% effort and get things going. I started looking for other members to join the band. I started looking for a good drummer, I wanted someone that could come and really add somthing to the music. That's when Cody came into the picture. Cody is a great drummer that is always willing to do what ever it takes to make a song sound good. Once we had Cody on board it was time to find a bass player. We tried out several bass players, we were about to find out that is was going to be the hardest spot to fill. We keep getting alot of bass players to try out but, it just seemed like somthing would always come up, like their commitment level or time availability. After about a month long search we came across Chad. He was a perfect fit for the band. He has high commitment levels and is always striving for us to produce the best sound we can. Chad brings to the table the ability to put what ever kind of bass line to the song that we need, whether it be slap, dub, or finger style he can do it! We hope to bring some musical uniqueness to the music industry. It seems right now the music industry is flooded with rap core bands. While I personally am a big fan of that music, I want our music to be an alternative to that style. We want to give people another type of music to listen to. We want to bring Rock back to life. We don't think there is enough good solid alternative hard rock bands out there. We hope every one will find somthing to like in our music. It does not matter if you like rap, metal, or light rock, we think every one will find a reason to listen to us."Daren Harber" Down Five is in the process of transforming itself into a new band.
