Artist description
Thom Hartwick explores the breaking points of blending conventional jazz, rock, and latin styles together to create what is best described as instrumental fusion. Using his knowledge of stylistic traits, classical composition, odd meters and rhythms, and metric modulation, Thom unleashes music which requires a larger musical vocabulary from the audience. |

Artist History
Fascinated with music in general, Thom began his studies in the school band. Drumset became hismain focus during high school, and on through college. Shortly after moving to Atlanta, work was readily available and he began doing variousfreelance jobs for studios, churches, variety bands, and original projects. Thom also found time to become part of the drum faculty at The Atlanta Institute of Music. At the school, Thom has had fun showcasing many aspects of the drumset as well as a highly developed foot technique which hehas fine tuned over the last couple of years. His expertise on proper foot development led to his instructional book: Rudimental Foot Technique. And shortly after, Demonstratus, Thom's debut release, became available on CD. Not only showcasing his abilities behind the drumset, but also as the composer, engineer, and producer of his first CD. |
