'...Yet the songs on the Worst of the Worst can be compelling in their awfulness. Songs like Richard Hackley's rabble-rousing, hackles-raising spiritual God's Backhand ("We're not talking about tennis or Ping-Pong!") or Offwight Radiator's inexplicable alterna-dirge Sent Fishing by Your Neighbor (those are the only lyrics) fascinate in the way the best outsider art often does. In the words of J.A. Moore, one of the Worst of the Worst's favorite artists, "It's just a funky mystery."'

The Worst Of The Worst (Robert Burke - http://www.theworstoftheworst.com and http://stations.mp3s.com/stations/136/the_worst_of_the_worst_-_a.html) had this to say:
'Torture Factor=10. If you enjoyed the repulsive WOTW chart toppers that are Pritstik you will really enjoy this one.
The Offwight Radiator’s sound like an aural version of Chinese Water Torture. Perfectly horrendous moaning and one chord on a guitar lay the background for the absurd lyrics “Sent Fishing By Your Neighbor”.
You can get all the pain-filled gruesomeness that had only been available during the Black Plague of the 1300’s right here on the Worst of the Worst.
I will leave you with this early account of the plague, which describes this song better than I ever could. “In their bones they bore so virulent a disease that anyone who only spoke to them was seized by a mortal illness and in no manner could evade death. The infection spread to everyone who had intercourse with the diseased. Those infected felt themselves penetrated by a pain throughout their whole bodies and, so to say, undermined. Then there developed in their thighs or on their upper arms a boil.... This infected the whole body and penetrated it so far that the patient violently vomited blood.” '

MP3K - MP3.com at its worst (Misery Master - http://stations.mp3s.com/stations/112/mp3k_mp3com_at_its_worst.html) said:
'The first song I've heard that I think could actually be used as a viable murder weapon. Lab rats who have had this song played to them several times in a row have been observed to curl up into small balls and weep themselves into dehydration. Compare this song to "Taco Taco Taco," and it will be apparant that, when it comes to completely pointless, aggravating putridity, we Yanks can't hold a candle to the Brits.' |
