Artist History Matt has always been tremendously affected by all kinds of music, whether it's something in a movie or a great song on the radio. He was given his first guitar when he was eleven and completely fell in love with the instrument. He played around in a few bands in junior high and high school but soon realized he wanted to explore music on his own for a while. He began singing and writing songs in his spare time and would perform them for his family and friends. After high school graduation he moved to Austin, Texas where he continued to write and perform solo shows around town. After almost four years in Austin, Matt decided to head into the studio to record a 5-song EP. He hooked up with producer Mark Hallman at the Congress House Studio and was joined by J.J. Johnson on drums and Jean LeJeune on bass. The finished product, entitled "Turn Away", is now available.
