Artist description Malevolus are a Metal band from Bideford, North Devon, England. They played a few gigs in late 2000/early 2001 and then took a break - until now. They are about to come back with a new sound and new image. This time though, heavier everything (particularly effects). The atmosphere and electricity involved in the music is likely to take them up a few notches.

Artist History Malevolus formed in November 2000 to play a charity gig for Children in Need, all members of the band were good(ish) friends and had played together in bands etc before. After this gig, the band decided to stay together as they had really enjoyed the playing the gig, and arranged a few more gigs for early the next year. After these two gigs, Andrew decided to leave the band (for various reasons). After Andrew had left, Dave, Kev and Simon decided to carry on themselves, with Simon playing the guitar now, instead of bass, and they looked for a new bass player. This setup never really worked, and they never found a bass player, so they didn't do much. In July/August 2001, Andrew decided to re-join the band again and they started out playing again, this time determined to write a variety of music and now play all of their own material. This was after a recieving a lot of abuse from fellow local bands due to playing cover songs. These other bands seemed to object to them having fun! In December 2001, Kevin decided to vacate the vocalist position to concentrate on samples and programming, more the direction that the band are heading. To replace him, Andrew decided to take over the vocalist space. The band are currently in the process of recording new material and rehearsing it, and will have a demo available ASAP. Watch this space.
